**A person is left guessing as to why this case was customized in such a fashion, cutting out an opening and adding a crystal 3x as thick as the original. Damaged? Someone else's initials? I really have no clue. What I do know is they did an excellent job doing it!**
Here is a sweet example of a timepiece from c.1911. It is an Elgin Pocket watch and nicely sized at 36mm across. This piece is an excellent survivor from 113+ years ago, and is now needing to be an heirloom for a new family.
The bright porcelain dial, roman numerals and blued steel hands just speak volumes of styling from a by gone era and in great condition. A thick glass crystal is there to protect it all.
The ornate gold filled hunter case is adorned with fantastic filigree on back. A piece such as this is obviously a very special one, so a new 10'' chain has been attached.
ALWAYS us a chain, trust me.
The 0size Elgin Movement has been completely rebuilt and is running stronger than ever...very accurate too! I completely disassembled it...and when I say that I mean the mainspring removed from the barrel and replaced, cap jewels removed, hairspring & balance cleaned...all of my pieces are done this way. It was lubed with fine Swiss synthetic oils & greases. They all receive the works as they should.
