I love it when these come across the bench. They are such a pleasure to work on. Hamilton made an excellent watch, and this one has the 770 movement powering it. Hamilton made this wonderful piece, named 'Wilson', in 1954.
The case is very sturdy and bold measuring 39mm to the lug tips, and 26mm across. Its 10kt gold filled case with its flares & curves shines up beautifully!
The factory dial is in excellent condition and is adorned by solid gold markers. The name 'HAMILTON' always speaks volumes, and is all protected an original Rocket brand crystal. I like this brand of crystal because they are super strong & help magnify the dial.
Also, it comes fitted with new 18mm leather band! A very attractive, clean lined timepiece.
The powerhouse of the watch is a 22 Jewel Hamilton 770 which is running strong and accurate. It has been totally serviced: cleaned, oiled & timed. This piece is an outstanding vintage classic to be enjoyed for years to come.
Also, I would like to say, these pieces are worth much more as an entire watch than scrapped for their gold. I buy and sell them all time. It is more valuable this way than the amount of gold actually in it. These timepieces are quickly disappearing due to the lack of knowledge of there value by the "gold re-claimers" and "scrappers" out there. It is an unfortunate truth, but once they are gone it is forever since it cost too much to make such well designed timepieces today.
